While my visual impairment has not been able to impede my efforts to win competitions, teach effectively, work towards my DMA, etc., I nonetheless hae to continually work around this impairment on a day-to-day basis.

Thomas Kurtz, a saxophonist and educator who has started a podcast, “Musicians’ Health Series,” which is focused on interviewing individuals on a variety of health topics ideal for performers. Thomas kindly invited me to share my story on the podcast as well as provide recommendations on teaching students with visual impairments. You can listen to the podcast here:

Thank you Thomas Kurtz for inviting me to discuss visual impairments on Musicians' Health Series! While I normally am reticent to make a “big deal” of my own challenges, I appreciate that he is building a helpful resource for musicians and educators.
