Announcing: Heidelberg University Single Reed Day!

After over a year of discussions, planning, and setup, I’m thrilled to share our exciting new event for clarinetists and saxophonists, Heidelberg University Single Reed Day! This year we welcome special guest artists Jan Berry Baker and Ford Fourqurean for masterclasses, workshops, and amazing artistry!

There’s so much to love about this event, including a large combined single reed choir, solo/chamber masterclass performance opportunities, and coachings with the one and only Liz Ames. Musicians of all ages, including middle school, high school, collegiate, graduate, and professional are welcome; attendees can choose from general participant, solo masterclass, and chamber masterclass packages!

Review: Vandoren Profile AP3 Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece

Hello world, welcome to my new blog! This space will be used for product reviews, pedagogy, help, and general thoughts concerning music and saxophone. To commemorate the inaugural post, I will be reviewing the brand-new Vandoren Profile AP3 Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece! This mouthpiece is soon-to-be-released by Vandoren Paris and is a very promising addition to their lineup. Check out my video review (complete with playing comparisons) below.

TLDW: This is my favorite Vandoren mouthpiece, however I still prefer square-chambered mouthpieces from Selmer Paris. This will be interesting competition to the Selmer Concept.
