Residency at the Paul Sacher Stiftung in Basel, Switzerland
This week I was fortunate to spend a week in residency at the Paul Sacher Stiftung in Basel, Switzerland! This residency was done, in part, to complete essential research for my doctoral dissertation. My dissertation, entitled “The Development of Berio's Sequenza IX and its Implications on Performance Practice,” is anticipated to be completed by Spring or Summer 2023. Many thanks to everyone at the Paul Sacher Sifting for their generosity in helping with my research! Also, many thanks to BGSU’s College of Musical Arts and the Graduate College for their assistance with funding my research.
Scheduled to Perform on BG New Music Festival
I am scheduled to premiere “Impatient Youth,” a new work for wind quintet with saxophone ensemble by composer Matthew Kennedy. The premiere will take place on October 14th at Bowling Green State University’s Kobacker Hall at 2:30pm. This performance is part of the 43rd annual Bowling Green New Music Festival. Many thanks to Dr. John Sampen, the BGSU Saxophone Ensemble, Kurt Doles, the MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music, and Matthew Kennedy for making this possible!
I will also be performing Emily Koh’s b(locked).orders, for soprano saxophone and electronics, on October 14th at 10:30am. Don’t miss it!
